Wilbur M. Mann, son of the late William and Mary (Dickerhof) Mann was born on Aug. 20, 1893 and departed this life following about two weeks illness at the Veteran’s Hospital, Ft. Wayne, on Aug. 14, 1959. He had attained the age of 65 years, 11 months am 23 days.
Dr. Mann was a Veteran of World War I and following his discharge came to Liberty Center where he has practiced as a veterinarian to the community for about 40 years. Dr. Mann graduated from the Cincinnati Veterinarian College.
On Aug. 11, 1920 he was united in marriage with Maud Bowers and to this union were born two children. A son, Edmond Robert, died in childhood. A daughter, Marian, married to Harold Slee, resides in Liberty Center.
Dr. Mann was a member of the VFW and the American Legion of Liberty Center. Surviving besides the companion and daughter are one brother, Guy Mann of Benson, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Hemmingway of Bryan; Mrs. Alta Firestone of Montpelier; Mrs Eva Clark of Stryker; two grandsons, Lee and Kurt Slee and other relatives and a host of friends.
Dr. Mann had devoted his life to the service of the farmers on the basis that he was qualified to serve them with his knowledge of disease illness of farm animals. He won friends in the rural area and will be both sadly missed by his family and many others.
