Florence Leist, 100, died Monday at Northcrest Nursing Home of Napoleon.
Born Feb. 5, 1897, in Delta, she was the daughter of Frank and Laura (Haller) Rhoads. On June 1, 1917, she married Alfred 'Jud' Leist, who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1974.
She was a homemaker and member of the Liberty Center United Methodist Church, where she also taught Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Gilbert-Baughman Post #492 of the American Legion Auxiliary of Liberty Center.
She is survived by a daughter, Gladys Demaline of Liberty Center; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Coral Hudson; four brothers. Rollie and Harvey Rhoads and two infant brothers; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Liberty Center United Methodist Church, Rev. Martin Denes officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Liberty Center Rescue Squad or the Liberty Center Library.
