Elmer E. "Pinky" Leatherman, 87, of Napoleon died Tuesday at Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon.
Born Jan. 28, 1920, in Washington Township, Henry County, he was the son of William Demas and Grace (Mohler) Leatherman. On Nov. 1, 1951, he married Melba "Patsy" Saneholtz, who survives.
A life-long Henry County farmer, he was a member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Liberty Center, where he served as a Sunday school teacher, trustee, superintendent and a member of the 1968 building committee. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and Tri-County Electric Board and served as an officer on the Ohio Rural Electric Co-Op.
He is also survived by two daughters, Peggy A. Leatherman of Bowling Green and Barbara (Dan) Dixon of Salt Lake City; a son, Richard (Pam Ash) of Liberty Center; a brother, Earl (Betty) of Naples, Fla.; two sisters, Faye Austermiller of Napoleon and Alice (Richard) Wheeler of Ramona, Calif.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Edgar "Pete," Dale, Vernam, and Lowell; and a sister Josephine.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church Pastor Jim Condrey officiating. Interment will follow at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Friday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
