George W. Laver was born at Findlay, Hancock Co., Ohio, June 18th, 1844 and departed this life at his home in Liberty Center with the family and his brother, Joseph at his bedside on April; 11th, 1922, aged 77 years, 9 months and 23 days. He enlisted in the Union Army Jan. 29, 1865 in Co. B, 185 Regt., O. V. V. I., and received an honorable discharge, Sept. 20, 1865.
He was united in marriage to Aurelia R. Bortel May 9, 1867, and to this union were born six children, three sons and three daughters, the three sons having preceded him in death, also the wife and mother on April 13, 1915.
He was again united in marriage to Mrs. Keturah Mires on Sept. 1, 1918.
He was a member of the I. O. O. F. Lodge. No. 718 of Liberty Center, also the encampment No. 262.
He also was a member of the Addison Clark Post No. 151 G. A. R. He United with the Christian Union Church in 1875 and has remained faithful to his belief in Christ and the church.
He leaves to mourn his departure a wife, three daughters, Mrs. Chas. Kessler, Mrs. Ada Russell and Mrs. Binnie Moore, an aged mother, three brothers, three sisters, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other relatives and friends.
