Rev. Irene M. Lang, 84, of Grand Rapids died Sunday evening at St. Luke’s Hospital, Maumee.
Born Feb. 17, 1914 in Liberty Center, she was the daughter of John and Bessie (Tester) Tanier. On July 5, 1968, she married Roy Edward Lang, who preceded her in death July 9, 1983.
She pastored Pilgrim Holiness-Wesleyan churches for 31 years. She ministered at churches in Massey and Durham, Ontario, Canada for four years and churches in Leipsic for five years, Liberty Center for 11 years and Grand Rapids for 18 years. She graduated from Owosso Bible College, Owosso, Mich., in 1937. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Grand Rapids.
She is survived by a sister, Eveland Linthicum of Liberty Center; a foster sister, Darlene Allgire of Weston; six step-grandchildren; and nine step great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a stepson, Paul Lang; and a sister, Lovell Ellsworth.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Wesleyan Church, Grand Rapids, Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home, Grand Rapids.
