Rolland H. Knapp, 53, formerly of Liberty Center, passed away Saturday night in the Berrien Springs County Hospital, Berrien Springs Mich., after an eight month illness.
Mr. Knapp, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Knapp, was born at Liberty Center in February 1907, and had resided there until about 20 years ago when he moved to the Jackson, Mich., area. He was a farmer and machinist and had been employed for some time at the Ford Motor Plant at Jackson, Mich.
He was married to Ethlyn Parritt of Malinta and after her death he was married to Floretta Bert, who survives together with the following children, Mrs. Gerald (Arla) Davis of Jackson, Michigan; Mrs. Don (Carol) Miller of Napoleon; Mrs. Norman (Ruth) Weierauch of Lima; Rolland L. Knapp with the armed forces in Kansas; Mrs. Raymond (Mary) Merillat of Grand Rapids; Mrs. William (Dorothy) Wilkes of Jackson, Michigan; Clarence Knapp of Grand Raplds, Thomas and Frank at home; father, Harry Knapp who resided with his son; two brothers, George of Cranberry Lake, Mich., and Harry Knapp Jr. of Jackson, Michigan; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be held at the McLaughlin Mortuary at Berrien Springs, Mich., at 10 a.m. on Friday followed by graveside services at Young’s Cemetery at Liberty Center at 3 p.m.
