Royal Kessler, 78, Route 1, Liberty Center, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday at the Northcrest Nursing Home, Napoleon.
Born February 5, 1892; in Fulton County, he was the son of Benjamin and Florence (Skates) Kessler. A retired farmer, he spent his entire married life in Henry County.
He is survived by his wife, Maude, daughters, Mrs. Erma Pelton, Roscommon, Michigan; Mrs. Dorothy Snyder, Toledo; Mrs. Fern Maunz and Mrs. Jennie Parsons, both of Liberty Center; sons, Howard, Orville, and George, also of Liberty Center; 31 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, George, Arizona; and Wilber, Liberty Center; and a sister, Mrs. Florence Ridenour, Delta.
A son, Walter, preceded his father in death, when he was killed in World War II in the European Theater.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Fiser Funeral Home, Liberty Center, with Pastor Ted Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in Young Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
