Leslie Forest Kessler, 77, of Liberty Center died Friday evening at The Lutheran Home at Napoleon.
Born Oct. 25, 1927, in Napoleon, he was the son of Rollen and Mildred (Gross) Kessler. On Aug. 15, 1947, he married Barbara Linthicum, who preceded him in death Feb. 5, 2001. On March 3, 2002, he married Helen (Hoffman) Fraker, who survives.
A farmer, he also worked as a bus driver and custodian for Liberty Center Schools for 37 years. He was also a maintenance man for Washington Township. After retirement, he worked for Hanna's Paint Store of Napoleon. He was a member of Victory Chapel United Brethren Church, Liberty Center, where he was a former trustee. He was a former member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a former Sunday school teacher, and the Liberty Township Board of Trustees. He also helped at Cherry Street Mission, Toledo.
He is also survived by three daughters, Vickie (Danny) Mohr of Delta and Patricia (John) Strock and Cindy (Tom) Overmier, both of Liberty Center; a son, Rick (Stephanie) of Liberty Center; two brothers, Aubrey of Archbold and Eldon (Norma) of Napoleon; three step daughters, Rose (Tom) Klopfenstein of Wauseon, Janet (Lonnie) Winover of Napoleon and Linda (Cole) Young of Swanton; two step sons, Robert Fraker and Steve (Kathy) Fraker, both of Napoleon; 11 grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Delmer; and a step daughter, Marjorie Eicher.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church, Pastor Steve Clymer, officiating. Interment will be held at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
The family suggests memorials be made to Victory Chapel United Brethren Church or The Les Kessler Scholarship Fund at Liberty Center Schools.
