Mary Ann Smith was born in Coshocton county July 1st, 1833, and departed this life Feb. 10, 1910, aged 76 years, 7 months and 9 days. She was the eldest of seven children, all of whom have preceded her to the the other world.
With her parents she moved to Bloomville, Seneca county, Ohio, when a small girl, where she resided until united in marriage to Joseph Kershner, Sept. 25, 1851. To this Union were born 5 sons and 3 daughters, one daughter having preceded her to the other world. She leaves to mourn her loss a loving husband, four children, thirteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and host of friends.
With her husband she moved to Henry county in 1882, where she remained until death. She was converted at the Baptist church soon after marriage and afterward united with the Christian Union church and died in the triumph of a living faith.
