Elmer J. Kershner was born on a farm near Liberty Center May 23, 1891, and departed this life at his home in Toledo, O., Nov. 16th, 1918, aged 27 years, 5 months and 23 days.
Deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Kershner of this place. He was raised in and near here and was well known. He was married to Miss Elvador Babcock July 31, 1909, and to this union were born three sons, Arthur, Byron and Elvin.
A few years ago he and his family moved to Toledo where he lived until death claimed him. Elmer has been a constant sufferer from a complication of diseases for the past three years. He was so ambitious and desirous of making his own way that he kept at work until within a few days of his death, when he contracted influenza. This was followed by an attack of bronchial pneumonia which caused his death. He was a patient sufferer, and a kind, devoted father and husband.
The body was brought to this place and immediate burial made in Young's cemetery.
He leaves a wife, three small boys, a father, mother, brother Chancy, of McCornb, O., and one sister, Ida, of this place, whose hearts were saddened by his death.
