James E. Kane, 90, McClure, retired farmer, died at 1 a.m. today in Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green. He had been in failing health for two years, and in serious condition for four days.
Born March 2, 1881, in Colton, he was the son of Martin and Mary (McGarver) Kane. He spent his life in Henry County. The deceased married Blanche Miller on November 5, 1904 who died September 6, 1966.
Surviving are three sons, Norris, Metamora, James, Toledo, Lloyd, McClure; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Hoff, Mrs. Irene Phillips, and Mrs. Helen Anderson, all of Toledo, and Mrs. Norma Leist, Monrovia, California; 27 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Robert, Toledo; and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Heidman, Toledo.
He was a member of the Christian Union Church, McClure.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure, with Reverend Vernon Babcock officiating. Burial will be in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. tonight (Wednesday).
