Sophia Segrist Jennings was born Oct. 20, 1867, at New Bedford, O. Being born of pious parents she was baptized in infancy and at the proper age was instructed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Priver and confirmed March 5, 1882.
In 1882 she moved with her parents to Fulton county, O., where she remained until April, 1921. On April 21, 1921, she was married to A. B. Jennings of Liberty Center, O. and moved to his farm, where she remained until 1942, when her health began to fail, and on July 29, 1953, she passed to her reward, at the age of 85 years, 9 months, and 9 days.
At the time of her death she was a member of the Liberty Chapel Evangelical United Brethren church.
She leaves to mourn her going, one brother, Lewis Segrist, of Wauseon; one nephew, Walter Segrist, also of Wauseon; two stepdaughters, Mrs. John Gramling of Liberty Center, and Mrs. Lewis Shoemaker of Dunkirk, O.
Funeral services were conducted from the Edgar Funeral Home Sunday afternoon, Aug. 2, at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. Charles Rex officiating. Interment was made in Young's cemetery, Liberty Center.
