Clara B. Jennings, daughter of Alice and Charles William Graner, was born July 16, 1881, at Liberty Center, O., and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice Keith, Aug. 20, 1960, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 4 days.
Her early life was spent on a farm near Liberty Center. On Sept. 30, 1900, she was united in marriage with Bert A. Jennings, McClure, O., and moved to Damascus township where she resided until 1914 when she and her family removed to Liberty Center. Here she spent the remainder of her life.
The esteem in which she was held in the community was shown by the many hundreds of cards and letters she received during her long illness.
She was the mother of two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Parker, Toledo; Mrs. Alice Keith of Liberty Center; three, sons, Vernon A., Ralph A., and Bryan, all of Liberty Center. Besides the above named children she is survived by four grandchildren, Billy Parker, Toledo; Ruth, Raymond and Nancy Jennings of Liberty Center, and one great-grandson, Thomas Lee Parker of Toledo.; two sisters, Mrs. Della Warner and Mrs. Jennie Blair, and one brother, Charles A. Graner, all of Liberty Center, and other relatives and a host of friends.
Her husband, parents, one sister who died in infancy, and one brother, George, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Jennings was an active member in the Methodist church as long as her health would permit. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Stars, Pacific Chapter 63, Rebekahs, Gleaners, Helen Matthews Society, the Women’s Society of Christian Service and the Berean class of the Sunday school.
Services were conducted from the Methodist church Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 2 p.m., Rev. David L. Eichar [cut off].
