Joseph D. Hoover, son of Abraham and Christena Hoover, was born September 20, 1872, and died February 19, 1919, aged 46 years, 4 months and 20 days.
Mr. Hoover was married November 21, 1891, to Miss Mary Babcock, and to this union were born six children, Bessie, Edith, Herbert, Lawrence, Helen and Donald, all living except Bessie, who died at the age of three and one-half years.
Deceased suffered a great many years with asthma, and death came after an attack of influenza with complications.
Mr. Hoover was baptized a very short time before his death and was perfectly reconciled, saying: It is God's will, let his will be done.
He leaves to mourn their loss, a loving wife, three sons and three daughters, his aged father an step-mother, and four sisters, Mary C. Hulvey, of Toledo; Lizzie Sinveus, of Monrovia, Calif., Susie Kepler, of Nappanee, Ind., and Cordelia Dunbar, of Toledo, also a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends.
Funeral services were held at the residence Friday afternoon, Rev. H. D. Wickens officiating. Interment in Young’s cemetery.
