Orbie A. Holbrook, 52, 1212 East Riverview Avenue, Napoleon, was declared dead on arrival at Heller Memorial Hospital early Saturday morning.
Holbrook worked as a mechanic for several garages in the Napoleon area, including Don Kramer Ford Sales and most recently at Christopher Chrysler.
He was born on February 24, 1930, in Dante, Virginia, to John and Alice (Holbrook) Holbrook. Holbrook was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean conflict.
Holbrook was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Dante, Virginia, and was active for 10 years in the Henry County Sheriff’s Auxiliary. He was a member of AMVETS and the Bert G. Taylor American Legion Post.
He is survived by his mother in Bassett, Virginia; two sons, Michael and Scott, Napoleon; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Doris) Fry, Napoleon; two brothers, Arthur, Dante, Virginia, and Garcie, Winston-Salem, North Carolina; one sister, Mrs. James (Thelma) Barnes, Bassett, Virginia, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Walker Funeral Home with the Reverend Terry Powell of the Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Young’s Cemetery, Liberty Center.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Henry County Heart Fund or HOPE School.
