Lydia M. Hogrefe, 84, Liberty Center, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday at Henry County Home, where she had been a resident since November 13.
A lifelong area resident, she was born in Henry County on February 27, 1897, the daughter of John and Mary (Mengerink) Norden. She married Albert Hogrefe in 1917, and he preceded her in death in 1961.
Mrs. Hogrefe was employed at the Johns-Manville plant in Waterville for 15 years, retiring ip 1962.
Surviving are five sons, Dick, Bradenton, Florida; Don, Livonia, Michigan; Elmer, Shreveport, Louisiana; David, St. Marys, and Tom, Medina; five daughters, Mrs. Al (Marie) Barton, Fair Oaks, Indiana; Mrs. Byron (Dorothy) Ford, Naples, Florida, and Mrs. Larry (Barbara) Sciortino, Fort Walton Beach, Florida; 43 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; two brothers, David, Napoleon, and John, Hamler; and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Brandt, Colton.
Also preceding her in death was a son, John, in 1964.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Reverend Paul Baumann officiating. Interment will be in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Friends may call at The Wesche Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests any memorials be made to the church building fund or Henry County Cancer Society.

The names of two survivors of Lydia M. Hogrefe, who died Sunday morning at the Henry County Home, were inadvertently omitted from yesterday’s obituary.
Surviving Mrs. Hogrefe are five sons and five daughters, including Mrs. Sadonna Ralston, Toledo, and Mrs. Esther Miller, Liberty Center, whose names were omitted. There are also 43 grandchildren, 50 greatgrandchildren, two brothers and one sister.
