Albert Hogrefe, 65, Texas O., a native of Henry County for many years, died Wednesday, Dec, 27, at Heller Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hogrefe entered the hospital on Dec. 14 after suffering a stroke at his home.
He was employed in the maintenance department of the General Motors transmission plant in Toledo until failing health necessitated his retirement about a year ago.
Surviving are his wife, Lydia, six sons. Dick, of Kittaning, Pa; John and Donald, both of Ypsilanti, Mich.; Elmer, Howe, Ind.; David, Napoleon and Thomas, at home; five daughters. Mrs. Marie Barton, Fair Oaks, Ind.; Mrs. Sadonna Ralston, Toledo; Mrs. Esther Miller, Liberty Center; Mrs. Dorothy Ford, Neapolis; and Barbara, Ft. Wayne Ind.; 36 grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis Hogrefe, Napoleon and Paul Hogrefe of Melrose; four sisters, Mrs. Johanna Arnos. Toledo; Mrs. Helen Miller, Archbold; Marie Hogrefe, Napoleon, and Mrs. Alma Clapp of Montpelier.
Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carl Hoffmeyer officiating. Burial was in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
