Mrs. Eva Bannister Hoffman, 70, of 736 West Maple Street, Liberty Center, died at 7:45 p.m. on Monday at Heller Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
A native of this area, Mrs. Hoffman was born in Richfield Township, Henry County, on September 5, 1898, the daughter of George Saul and Nettie Mohler.
She was married to Alfred Bannister, who preceded her in death on September 13, 1950. On January 16, 1960 she was united in marriage with Jay Hoffman.
Mrs. Hoffman had worked in various factories in this area and from 1954 to 1959 she was employed at the Fulton County Home.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Liberty Center.
She is survived by her husband, Jay; one son, Charles Bannister of Ridgeville Corners; four daughters. Mrs. Marjorie Hoffman and Mrs. Carolee Wolcott both of Liberty Center, Mrs. Virginia Nye of Delta and Mrs. Ruby Thomas of Neapolis; one adopted daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Smith of Malinta; 35 grandchildren; four brothers, Cecil Saul of Scottsdale, Arizona. George and Donald Saul of Toledo, and Irvin Saul of Fostoria; and two sisters, Mrs. Verda Heckler of Waterville and Mrs. Dorothy McCorkle of Liberty Center.
Friends may call at The Wesche Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m, on Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Liberty Center. Rev. Paul A. Weber, associate pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon, will officiate. Interment will be made in Young Cemetery in Liberty Center.
