Funeral services were held at Walter's Mortuary Sunday for Arthur Hoffer, 77, who died Aug. 18 in Heller Memorial Hospital in Napoleon.
A lifetime area resident, Mr, Hoffer was a retired Willys Motors employee. He was also engaged in the timber business in his early life.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; three sons, Ernest of Toledo, Wayne and James of Liberty Center; Chester of Holgate; five daughters, Mrs. Bertha Bechstein of Swanton, Mrs. Mildred Williamson of Rockford, Ill.; Mrs. Dorothy Fields of Lincoln Park, Mich.; Mrs. Josephine Stevenson of Delta and Mrs. Kathryn Eddy of Gallipolis; 30 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Young’s Cemetery.

Arthur Hoffcr, son of David and Millie Hoffer was born on October 1, 1882 in Liberty Center, and passed away in Heller Memorial Hospital in Napoleon on Aug. 18, 1960 at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 18 days, following a long illness.
On Nov. 8, 1903, he was united in marriage to Alice Myles and to this union was born eleven children. Surviving are his wife, Alice, of Liberty Center; sons, Earnest, Toledo; Wayne, Liberty Center; Chester, Holgate, James, Liberty Center; daughters, Bertha Bechstein, Swanton; Mildred Williamson, Rockford, Ill.; Dorothy Fields, Lincoln Park, Mich.; Josephine Stevenson, Delta; and Kathryn Edy of Gallipolis. Preceding him in death were sons Jesse, who died in infancy, and David, who died at the age of 15.
Arthur was a life long resident of Liberty Center and a good husband and father. He had been retired for some time.
He leaves behind to remember him besides his wife and children, thirty grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Services were conducted from the Walters Funeral Home and interment was in the Young Cemetery in Liberty Center.
