Wilbur M. Hoff June 16, 1930-Jan. 15, 2010
Wilbur M. Hoff, age 79 years, of Napoleon, passed away early Friday morning, Jan. 15, 2010, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
Wilbur was born June 16, 1930, in Lima to the late Albert and Bessie (Baker) Hoff.
He is lovingly survived by three sons, Jeff (Brenda) Hoff, Liberty Center, Mike (Laura) Hoff, Wauseon, and Jim (Tracey) Hoff, Chestertown, Md.; two daughters, Andrea Sue (Chuck) Irving, Liberty Center, and Lisa (Scott) Boltz, Whitehouse; 11 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; brother, Don (Joann) Hoff, Delta; sister, Dorothy Merricle, Lima; special friend, Frances Aderman, Napoleon; and former wife, Nancy Travis, Coldwater, Mich.
Two brothers, William and Richard Hoff, also preceded him in death.
Wilbur began his career as a construction inspector with the State Highway Administration and later Pittsburgh Testing. He retired from the Campbellās Soup Supply Co., Napoleon, in 1998. Following retirement, Wilbur worked as a courier for local hospitals and doctors.
A 1948 graduate of Liberty Center High School, he proudly served his country in United States Army during the Korean War. Wilbur was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, AMVETs, American Legion and Moose, all in Napoleon; as well as Ducks Unlimited. Pheasants Forever and the National Rifle Association.
Wilbur was an avid out-doorsmen and enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. He was a faithful supporter of the Liberty Center Public Library and volunteered many hours for the American Red Cross.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday from 1-7 p.m. in the Wright-Hobbs Funeral Home, Liberty Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Feme presiding. Burial will follow at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, with military graveside rites conducted by the Joint Veterans Posts of Napoleon.
Memorials are suggested to the Liberty Center Public Library or American Red Cross.
