Local Man Dies Of Gun Wounds
The liberty Center Rescue Squad was called to the home of Albert White, 56, of 508 Young Street, in Liberty Center, last Saturday evening when a neighbor, Mrs George Peet, reported that Mr. White had shot himself.
According to the sheriff's department Mrs. Peet had witnessed the shooting from her home.
She Liberty Center Rescue Squad administered oxygen but Mr. White did not respond.
Henry County Coroner, Wilson J. Slough, pronounced him dead at the scene. The 12 gauge single shot gun was lying on the front porch about 10 feet from the body.
A U. S. Navy W. W. II veteran, he was born in 1913, in Erwin, Tenn., the son of Harve and Fannie (McKeaver) White.
Surviving are his wife, Albie; four sons, Fred, Oakwood; Lawrence and Roger, Texas, Ohio, Grover, Liberty Center; two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Holbrook, Napoleon, Mrs. Brenda Long, Liberty Center; three brothers, Jack, Landon and Troy, all of Erwin, Tenn., one sister, Mrs. Mamie Edon, also of Erwin; and 11 grandchildren. Burial was in Young Cemetery.
