Gernie Arthur Henderson was born at Deshler, March 3, 1893, and passed away at his home in Napoleon after a brief illness at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8th at the age of 49 years, 2 months and 5 days.
In the month of June, 1911, he was united in marriage to Alice Smith, deceased, and to this union one son was born, Gernie Jr. who is serving his country at the Detroit Naval Station.
In 1916 Mr. Henderson became a member of the National Guard and was stationed on the border until he was inducted into the United States Army in 1917. He served his country well and received his honorable discharge July 17, 1919.
On March 12, 1938, he was united in marriage to Marie Moffet, who remains to mourn his loss.
For the past year Gernie had been an· employe of the Village, having been connected with the street department.
Those who remain to mourn his loss are his wife, Marie, one grandson Ronald, his father, Mr. Hiram F. Henderson of West Toledo, his mother Mrs. Louise Teeple of Napoleon, brother, Ervie, Richard and Virgil, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Military services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Boyer Mortuary, Dr. Dunkel officiating and interment was made at Young cemetery, Liberty Center.
