William Heilman, a 16-year-old Liberty Center youth, was found unconscious in a pickup truck Thursday evening at 9. The truck was parked at his father’s home on Maple Street, Liberty Center.
He was found by a friend, Tim Creager, who immediately called the Liberty Center rescue squad. The youth was rushed to Heller Memorial Hospital, where he died later.
Dotor Soriano, acting coroner, has ordered an autopsy and has not ruled on the cause of death.
Born in Napoleon October 5, 1954 [death record and tombstone say 1955], he was the son of William F. and Patricia (Sharpe) Heilman. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Liberty Center, the Liberty Center high school band, football team, wrestling team, the French club, and Boy Scout troop 166.
Surviving are the parents; brother, Daniel; two sisters, Mary Katherine and Elizabeth, all at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Sharpe, Route 2, Liberty Center; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Heilman, Route 1, Liberty Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Walker Mortuary with Reverend Joseph Burnett officiating. Interment will follow in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center. Friends may call at the mortuary from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
