Harve W. Heilman, 83, Liberty Center, died Friday afternoon in Floro’s Nursing Home, McClure.
He was born in Holgate on August 13, 1896, to John W. and Katherine (Rohrbaugh) Heilman. On August 11, 1924, he married Naomi Lovejoy, who survives.
A retired farmer, he was also a former truck driver for Flagg's Bakery in Liberty Center. He also owned and operated Heilman Truck Lines in Liberty Center.
A former village councilman and volunteer fireman, he was a life member of Liberty Center's Masonic Lodge #518.
The deceased lived in the Fairview area near Defiance before moving to Henry County in 1908.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, William, Liberty Center; a daughter, Mrs. Max (Beverly) Schlatter, Wapakoneta; six grandchildren; and three sisters, Stella Brubaker, Detroit, and Helen Bard and Opal Puckett, both of Liberty Center.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Croll-Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, the Reverend Thomas Hanover officiating. Interment was made in Young's Cemetery, Liberty Center.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Liberty Center Library, Liberty Center United Methodist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
