Arthur G. Haughey, 79, Liberty Center, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening in St. Francis Rehabilitation Center, Green Springs.
Born December 11, 1902, in Mount Vernon, he was the son of Allen and Daisy (Huffaker) Haughey. He married Kathryn Hasemeier on September 3, 1926, and she survives.
He was well-known in this area for his marquetry, an art that involves wood-inlaid pictures. He was a charter member of the Wood Collectors Society and a member of Napoleon Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Allen, St. Joe, Michigan; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Adell) Claypool, Silver Spring, Maryland; a brother, Dell, Visalia, California; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Lambert, Akron, and Mrs. Ruby Medcalf, Ada, and two grandchildren.
Services will be held Sunday, 2 p.m., at Croll-Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center. The Reverend Eugene Young will officiate, and interment will be in Young’s Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary. The family suggests any memorials be made to Community Services of the Napoleon First Day Adventist Church.
