Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the family residence for Henry John Hasemeier, 82, retired farmer, who died at his home on Road U in Liberty Township after an illness of three years.
Rev. Darrel Foster, pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, officiated at the services and interment was made in Young Cemetery in Liberty Center. The Wesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hasemeier was born near Sherwood, O., on April 2, 1884, the son of John H. Hasemeier and Anna Palacke. He was united in marriage on June 19, 1906, to the former Vinnie Smith.
In 1910 they moved to the Liberty Center area and resided at the present farm home for the past 43 years. Besides farming, from which he retired in 1956, Mr. Hasemeier manufactured brooms for a number of years, growing his own broomcorn. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Vinnie; one daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Haughey, of Milton, Wis., and two grandchildren.
