Services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Walker mortuary, Napoleon, for Fred A. Hales, 83, who died of a heart attack last Thursday in his home. The Rev. Billy Krugh of Liberty Chapel EUB church (officiated). Burial was in Young’s cemetery.
Mr. Hales was a native of this community, and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; daughter, Aelia Spencer, Toledo; sons, Joe Hales, Liberty Center; Dr. C. W. Hales, Columbus; Jack E. Hales and Earl Spencer, both of Toledo; sister, Mrs. Minnie Clifton, Napoleon; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Obituary
Fred A. Hales, son of Joseph and Tirzah (nee Allee) Hales, was born Oct. 24, 1872 at Liberty Center, O., and passed away April 6, 1956, at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 11 days.
He was a lifelong resident of the Liberty Center community, and attended Reed school, which was near his home.
On May 5, 1915, he was united in marriage with Rebecca E. Spencer, and to this union Were born three sons.
He was preceded in death by three sisters; Mrs. Ellen Young, Mrs. Cora Spiess, Mrs. Emma Beilharz, and two brothers, Will and Frank Hales.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Rebecca; three sons, Joe, of Liberty Center; Dr. Cecil, of Columbus; Jack, of Toledo; two stepchildren, Aelia Spencer, and Earl Spencer, of Toledo; also one sister, Mis. Minnie Clifton, Napoleon, and eight grandchildren, and many friends.
Funeral services were held in the Walker mortuary, Napoleon, on Sunday, April 8, with the Rev. B. C. Krugh officiating. Interment was in Young's cemetery, Liberty Center.
