Obituary:
Robert C. Hahn, 72, Napoleon, died Monday evening in the Northcrest Nursing Home following a brief illness.
Born in Liberty Center on May 22, 1917, he was the son of Clarence and Mary Leona (Yocom) Hahn. On Dec. 31, 1946, he married Dorothy E. Doda, and she survives.
He was a retired 1st Sgt. of the U.S. Army and a veteran of World War II, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. For his service in WW II, Hahn was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Following his retirement from the U.S. Army, he had worked for the Henry County Highway Department and Napoleon’s Heller-Aller Co. Hahn was a member of Napoleon’s First Baptist Church, Bert G. Taylor American Legion and Chapter 232 O.E.S. as well as Liberty Center’s Masonic Blue Lodge F. & A.M.and the Valley of Toledo’s Scottish Rite.
Also surviving are two daughters, Rosalie Sauber and Nettie Speiser, both of Napoleon, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Chalmer.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, Rev. Rick Trumbo of Napoleon’s First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, where military graveside rites will be accorded by a joint unit of the American Legion, V.F.W. and AMVETS.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at the mortuary, where a Masonic service will take place at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Henry County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
