Friends in this place were shocked to learn of the death of Miss Lora Hackett which occurred at Flower Hospital in Toledo Monday November 27th. Funeral services were held at the residence of Chas. E. Deceased was an estimable young lady and was loved and respected by all who had the [smudged] of her acquaintance.
Lora Baker Hackett was born in Huron county, Ohio, Feb. 3, 1837. She was married to Joseph W. Hackett on Noy. 13, 1856. They moved to Wood county and from there to Henry county, where she lived to the time of her death. Three children were born in the home: Cina, Ella and Charles.
Mother Hackett was a firm believer in the great beyond. She consecrated her life more fully to her Savior Dec. 14, 1890, by being baptized and confirmed in her faith, and became a member of the Reformed church at this place, living a life of peace and happiness until in this full ripe age her Savior called her to her reward. Two years ago the companion of her life, after a journey of over fifty years together, passed from this earth away, and now, after a well spent life of 73 years, 8 months and 18 days we tenderly lay her beside her departed loved one.
