Mary A. Gruber, 58, passed away Monday afternoon at Heller Memorial Hospital, Napoleon.
Mrs. Gruber was a member of World War II Mothers, American Legion Auxiliary, Pythian Sisters, Order of the Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, the Golden Rule Sunday School Class of St. John’s Reformed Church.
Surviving are her husband, Clifford (Thornton) Gruber, Sr.; three sons, Clifford T., Liberty Center; Bruce, Liberty Center; Richard, Port Orchard, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Baun, Delta; two brothers, William Klaar, Palestine, Ind.; Meredith Klaar, St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Banche Cooper, Defiance; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, at 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Wayne Goldsmith, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, officiating. Interment will be in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Obituary
Mary Ann Gruber was born on Sept. 4, 1902 in Breckenridge, Mich. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick C. Klaar. Mrs. Gruber was 68 years, five months and nine days old when she passed away on Feb. 13, 1961 at the Heller Memorial Hospital in Napoleon, O., following a long illness.
She was united in marriage to Thornton Gruber of Liberty Center, O., on Oct. 13, 1910, and six children were born to this union. Two of these children preceded their mother to the Heavenly City.
All who knew Mrs. Gruber found her to be a very kind and loving mother, a thoughtful wife and a pleasant neighbor. She was a member of the following organizations: The American Legion Auxiliary, World War II Mothers, Pythian Sisters, Order of the Eastern Star, Union Rebekah Lodge and the Golden Rule Sunday School Class of the St. John’s Reformed Church.
Many precious memories will linger with those who mourn her passing.
She is survived by her husband, Thornton Gruber of Liberty Center, O.; four children, Clifford Thornton Gruber, Jr., Liberty Center; Bruce E. Gruber, Liberty Center; Richard A. Gruber, Port Orchard, Wash.; and Mrs. Eleanor Baun, Delta, O.; two brothers, F. W. Klaar of Palestine, Ind.; Meredith R. Klaar of St. Louis, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Cooper of Defiance, O.
Funeral services were conducted from the Walker Mortuary, Napoleon, O., with Pastor Wayne Goldsmith officiating. Final resting place for the body is in the Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
