Andrew (Andy) Gineman, 73, Liberty Center, died Monday morning in his residence. Born in Liberty Township on March 20, 1912, he was the son of Leonard and Adeline (Kretz) Gineman. He married Margaret Schender on July 23, 1932, and she survives.
He had been a foreman for Napoleon Products. He was also employed as a custodian at Liberty Center High School until his retirement in 1972. He then operated Andy’s Lawnmower Repair until last year when his health began to fail. He was a member of Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of Liberty and Washington Township Fire Department where he had been former chief and was a member of the honor roll.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Jane Ayer of Chalfont, Pa.; a brother, John, Liberty Center; a sister, Helen Sworden, Leesburg, Fla.; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Croll-Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, with Rev. Marvin Schamaun and Rev. Paul Eicher officiating. Interment will be in Young Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today and after 2 p.m. Wednesday, where a memorial service will be conducted by Henry County Firefighters Association at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Preferred memorials are to the Fireman’s Fund, American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
