Chad William Geitgey, 17, of Liberty Center died Thursday at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center of Toledo.
Born April 16, 1987 in Toledo, he was the son of Perry and Brenda (Geitgey) Shipman, who survive of Liberty Center.
He was a junior at Liberty Center High School and attending Four County Career Center of Archbold, enrolled in the carpentry program. He was a member of Liberty Center FFA Chapter, where he received the Greenhand and Chapter Degree. He was a member of New Horizon Community Church of Delta. He worked as a cook at Whitehouse Inn and previously delivered the Defiance Crescent News.
He is also survived by a sister, Chyenne Shipman of Liberty Center; two brothers, Chancelor and Chyler, both of Liberty Center; and grandparents, William Geitgey of Perrysburg, Nancy Geitgey of Maumee, Phillip and Phyllis Shipman of Delta and Leo and Fran Sparks of Toledo.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Horizon Community Church, Rev. David Rison officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Monday at Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center and one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
