William Geiger, 69, a retired farmer, died Friday at his home here.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Mr. Geiger is survived by his wife, Esther; sons, Ervin, Wabash, Ind.; Kenneth, Delta; Gerald, of Stryker; Robert, at home; a stepson, Charles Ripke, of Defiance; brothers, Edward and Harvey, Defiance, and Albert, Holgate; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held at St. Paul’s Church at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Arthur Senn. Burial was in Young’s Cemetery.

William Christian Geiger was born on Jan. 27, 1890, in Williams County, O., the son of Christian Geiger and his wife, Anna Scharnakau Geiger. He entered God’s kingdom of grace through the washing of holy baptism on June 8, 1890. He first confessed his faith in Christ at the Reformed Church in New Bavaria on April 2, 1915 and in May l926 he became a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Defiance.
He was joined in holy wedlock to Elsie Ort on March 12, 1918. She preceedd him in death in 1924. On Aug. 19, 1925 he was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Esther Bohlke Ripke, who survives his passing into glory, together with a stepson, Charles Ripke, of Defiance, and four sons, Ervin, of Wabash, Ind.; Kenneth, of Delta; Gerald, of Stryker, and Robert, of Liberty Center.
He also leaves four brothers: Edward and Harvey, of Defiance; Ernest, of Hicksville, and Albert, of Holgate, besides many other relatives and friends.
The departed was raised and made his early home in Williams County, later moving to Henry County. He lived in Liberty Township since 1940, spending the last three and one-half years in his home on Damascus St. in Liberty Center, where he passed into eternal life on Friday evening, Aug. 7 at 8:00 p.m. He reached the age of 69 years, 6 months and 10 days.
William Geiger was engaged in farming throughout his life until his health forced him to retire.
His mortal remains were laid to rest in Young's Cemetery in Liberty Center following the service.
