Lawrence Fredrick, 91, Liberty Center, died early this morning in Henry County Hospital.
Born in Liberty Center on Aug. 20, 1897, he was the son of Robert and Myrtle (Sheely) Fredrick. On Sept 13, 1917, he married Zehna Mae Burgoon, and she preceded him in death on May 13, 1986.
He and his wife had been the owners and operators of the Nationwide Grocery in Liberty Center from 1917-1942. Fredrick then served as an inspector with the State Liquor Control Board for 11 years, and before his retirement, worked as a meat cutter for Florian Sauer of Napoleon. He was a member of Liberty Center’s United Methodist Church and F. & A.M. Lodge #518.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Jean Plassman of Napoleon; two grandsons, Scott and Todd Plassman of Napoleon; and three great-grandsons.
Also preceding him in death were a daughter, Ganell Fredrick on June 9, 1929, and a sister, Anna Fredrick.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Rev. William Goff officiating. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. on Wednesday, where a Masonic service will take place at 7:30 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
