Charles R. Fredrick, son of Elias and Mary Fredrick, was born in Fulton county, O., Sept. 29, 1887, and departed this, life on Feb. 11, 1939.
On Dec. 17, 1912, at Liberty Center, O., he was united in marriage to Miss Essie Hite and together they made their home on his father's farm near Delta. To this union were born four children, three sons and one daughter, the latter having died in infancy. His father, Elias Fredrick, passed on to his reward in 1920. One older brother, John, also died in infancy.
Upon coming to Toledo some twenty-three years ago, Mr. Fredrick was employed by the DeVilbiss Company and remained with the company in increasingly responsible positions until his death.
Early in life he united with the United Brethren church and began as a teacher in the Sunday school at the age of eighteen. He taught for three years in the Liberty Chapel school.
In Toledo he found it more convenient to unite with the Asbury Methodist Episcopal church where he soon became teacher of an adult Bible class. Coming to West Toledo he was made teacher of Ye Mutual Friendship class, which position he filled most acceptably until ill health compelled his resignation about a year ago. He was an official member of Collingwood church, serving as one of its treasurers and was a very faithful and valuable participant in many activities.
His cheery disposition, charming personality and unselfish kindness endeared him to all and won for him many friends.
In addition to his wife, Essie, he leaves for awhile his three sons, Lloyd H., Walter R., and Clarence Hubert; his aged mother, Mrs. Mary Fredrick of Delta, O., and one brother. Rev. D. E. Fredrick of Wauseon, O.
Funeral services were held in the Collingwood Methodist church of Toledo and burial was made in Liberty Center on Feb. 15, 1939.
