Mazie E. Fisher, 85, Liberty Center, died Tuesday morning in Henry County Hospital.
Born in Malinta on July 9, 1903, she was the daughter of Ralph A. and Edith (Haffey) Stevens. On July 22, 1922, she married Warren O. Fisher, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1963.
She attended Bowling Green State University from 1956-58, and taught elementary school in Pettisville, Waterville and Liberty Center. In 1987, Fisher was the first to receive Liberty Center Rotary Club’s Outstanding Citizen award.
Surviving are two sons, Robert W. of Liberty Center and Ken K. of Malinta; four brothers, Charles and Jack Stevens, both of Defiance, Byron Stevens of Napoleon and Richard Stevens of Liberty Center; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a brother, Harold Stevens, and a sister, Hazel Mann.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Rev. William Goff of Liberty Center’s United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. on Thursday.
