Nathaniel Eversole was born in Sandusky County, Ohio, April 5, 1841, and departed this life and his late residence near Liberty Center, October 2, 1914, aged 73 years, 5 months and 27 days. He was the son of Joseph and Sarah Eversole and was one of a family of six children, five daughters and one son.
He was married to Catherine Henricks August 30, 1871. He was father of one daughter and four sons: John S., Edwin C., Jerome W., Ivan E., and Mrs. Jenny M. Young. One daughter, Hattie, died in childhood. There are also six grandchildren and four sisters.
Mr. Eversole was a veteran of the Civil War, serving three years, one month and 27 days. He was a member of the 72nd Ohio Volunteer Infantry. In his earlier life he was a member of the Reformed church but of late years a member of the Church of God and continued as such until his death.
Funeral services were held at the Reformed church in Liberty Center, Sunday afternoon, Rev. D. Martz officiating. Interment in Young’s Cemetery.
Mr. Eversole was an old resident of this community and was highly respected. He was an excellent citizen and neighbor, husband and father. He had been in very poor health for several months, suffering from heart trouble. He was feeling much better Thursday and did considerable light work about the home. Friday morning he was still feeling good and cut a limb from the fruit tree which he took to the corn barn to saw up. Here he was found shortly afterward, quite dead.
While expecting that he would go thus suddenly when he went, his death was nevertheless a great shock to his family and neighbors.
Nathaniel Eversole was a good man, a Kindly man, and had few if any enemies.
