Rudy F. Elling, 67, of Liberty Center died Saturday morning at Northcrest Nursing Home, Napoleon.
Born Sept 18, 1923, at Westhope, he was the son of Albert and Ida (Spoering) Elling.
On Oct. 29, 1944, he married Donna Ordway, and she survives.
He was a farmer and worked for the Campbell Soup Co. in Napoleon and General Motors Central Foundry in Defiance, retiring from there in 1985.
Elling was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Liberty Center, and the Sportsmen's Club in Grand Rapids.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Ronald of Richmond Hill, Ga; three daughters, Dianne Kline of Mark Center, Ohio, Connie Caldwell of Westerville, Ohio, and Vickie Elling of Wauseon; a brother, Alfred of Liberty Center; four sisters, Alma Hicksted of Napoleon, Lorma Hausch of Wauseon, Eleonore Glanz of Hudson, Mich., and Louise Miller of Napoleon; seven grandchildren; and four step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and Paul.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Rev. Norman Koy of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, officiating. Interment will be in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to the church, American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice.
