Irene Elling, 83, of Swunton died Wednesday at the Lutheran Home at Napoleon.
Born Feb. 24, 1913, in Grelton, she was the daughter of George and Maudie (Bearley) Kinder. On April 27, 1935, she married Lorenz Elling, who survives.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Liberty Center and its Ladies Aid Society.
She is also survived by a son, Robert of Swanton; four daughters, Iretha Sleesman of Montpelier, Opal Sturduvant of Napoleon, Rosella Hannewald of Waterville and Glenna Helmke of Napoleon; four sisters, Vera Crawford of Colton, Norma Friesthuler of Anna, Ohio, Edna Mae Hammons of McClure and Dorothy Bishop of Malinta: 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Burdette Kinder; two sisters, Lera Wenner and Madonna Davis; and a grandchild.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Liberty Center. Pastor William Thompson officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
Visitation will be at the Wright Funeral Home of Liberty Center on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
