Edna Leola Dunmire, 85, of Liberty Center died Sunday afternoon at Toledo Hospital.
Born Aug. 12, 1917, in Calhoun, Ky., she was the daughter of Sherman and Annie (Conrad) Smith. On July 5, 1934, she married Everett Downs, who preceded her in death in October of 1961. On June 1, 1963, she married Sherman Dunmire, who preceded her in death Sept. 10, 1995.
A homemaker and baby sitter, she was a member of Liberty Center United Methodist Church, Napoleon Moose Lodge, Union Rebekah Lodge in Liberty Center and the Eastern Star in Deshler. She was a former member of the Liberty Center Water Board.
She is survived by four daughters, Leola Schiple of Napoleon, Becky Snyder of Liberty Center, Anne Vannoller of Benzonia, Mich., and Edna Buhl of Walled Lake, Mich.; two sons, James Downs of Defiance and Sherman Downs of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Franklin of Sacramento, Ky., and Norman, Grahm and Glenn, all of Island, Ky.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Newman and James Smith; and four sisters, Lillian, Nora and Laura Smith and Geraldine Cook.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Rev. David MacDonald officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
