Meme Crozier DuPoy, 104, Liberty Center, died Monday evening at the Bowling Green Manor Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for eight years.
Born in Liberty Center on Sept. 8, 1885, she was the daughter of Charles and Delia (Young) Showman. On Sept. 5, 1907, she married Walter Crozier, who preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1953. She then married Ben DuPoy on June 1, 1954, and he preceded her in death on May 26 1956.
She was a former teacher in the one-room Scribner School near Liberty Center and a former cook with the Liberty Center Schools for 10 years. She was a member of the Union Rebekah Lodge #273, Liberty Center.
Surviving are two daughters, Vardinique North of Haskins, Ohio, and Delia Bentley of Grand Rapids; six grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; and 10 great-greatgrandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Charles Crozier; two brothers, Cloyce and Mel Showman; two sisters, Louvinia Pohlman and Lucy Johnson; and a great-granddaughter, Rusty Crozier.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, Rev. David Howell of the Tontogany United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Young Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday, where a Rebekah Lodge service will take place at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
