Ferris B. Dersham, 60, collapsed and died after a heart attack Tuesday at his home in Liberty Township, southwest of here.
Sheriff Fred Bartels said Mr. Dersham had gone to the barn and when he failed to appear for breakfast, was found by his wife, Abbie. Dr. Thomas Quinn, Henry County coroner, said death was due to a heart attack.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Elling, Napoleon; son James, student at IBM school, Endicott, NY; mother, Mrs. Belle Dersham, and sister, Mrs. Vera Zoller, both of St. Petersburg, Fla., and 3 grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from the Boyer-Walker Mortuary in Napoleon with Rev. David Eichar officiating.
Interment will be in Young's cemetery, Liberty Center.
Obituary:
Ferris B. Dershem, son of O. C. and Della L. Dershem, was born in Sandusky county, O., Aug. 31, 1894. He came to Henry county when only a few years of age.
In October 1923 he was united in marriage with Abbie Myers, and they resided in Liberty township on a farm all of their married lifc. He was an active member of the Methodist church in Liberty Center.
On Aug. 23, 1955, he suffered a coronary thrombosis and departed this life at the age of 60 years.
Surviving are his wife, Abbie; daughter, Mrs. Alfred A. Filing, Napoleon, O.; son, James A., Endicott, N.Y.; his mother, Mrs. Belle Dershem, and sister, Mrs. Vera Zoller, both of St. .Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.
Mr. Dershem will be sadly missed both at home and in the church, where at the time of his departure he was a member of the official board and president of the men's class.
Funeral services were conducted from Walker’s mortuary, Napoleon, Aug. 25 at 2 p.m. and burial was in Young’s cemetery, Liberty Center. Services were conducted by Rev. David L. Eichar, pastor of the church.
