Robert L. Demaline Oct. 19, 1924 - Oct. 30, 2005
Robert Lowell Demaline, 81, of Liberty Center died Sunday at Henry County Hospital.
Born Oct. 19, 1924, in Delta, he was the son of Vern and Lillian (Markley) Demaline. On Dec. 14, 1942, he married Gladys Marilyn Leist, who survives.
He served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He also worked in sales and services at Toledo Scale Co., Toledo, for 22 years and then operated Demaline Scales and Service, Delta, from 1973-1987. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Gilbert-Baughman American Legion Post #492, V.F.W. Post #6596, all of Liberty Center, and Fulton County AARP, serving as president for eight years.
He is also survived by three sons, Larry (Barbara) of Leesburg, Fla., and Jim (Roxanne) and Tom (Teresa Phillips), both of Delta; a sister, Alice Osterhout of Napoleon; two brothers, Harold (Pat) of Fort Myers, Fla., and Vernon "Bud" (Roberta) of Alpharetta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Steward and Donna Miller; and a brother, Howard.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Liberty Center, Pastor Jeffrey Stone officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center, with military services by the Liberty Center American Legion and V.F.W.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center.
