Walter Crozier, son of George and Mary Crozier, was born in Columbia City, Ind., on Sept. 2, 1881. He departed this life Feb. 25, 1953, aged 71 years, 6 months and 23 days.
His mother died when he was four days did and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rogers, of Liberty Center, raised him to manhood.
He was united in marriage to Meme Showman on Sept. 5, 1907. To this union three children were born: Vardinique, Charles, and Delia. The family lived on farms near Grand Rapids, Haskins and Pemberville until 1940. Nine years ago Mr. Crozier retired from farming and spent his time doing carpenter work. He moved to Liberty Center and was living there at the time of his death. In every community where he lived he has a host of good friends. This is a fine testimony that he lived by the Golden Rule.
He is survived by his wife, three children, six grandchildren, two sisters, a brother, five nieces, a nephew, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Haskell at the Croll funeral home in Grand Rapids on Saturday, Feb. 28. Interment was in Young’s cemetery, Liberty Center.
