Margaret Jean Creager, 75, of Liberty Center, died Wednesday, Jan. 10 in Fulton Manor Care Center, Wauseon.
She was born May 14, 1925 in Cleveland, the daughter of George Stanley and Margaret Helen (Wrigley) Lance. She married Ralph J. Creager on June 23, 1945 and he survives.
Mrs. Creager graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and attended Flora Stone Mather College of Western Reserve University. She was a homemaker and for a short period of time, a teacher’s aide at The Maumee Youth Camp.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, Napoleon, where she served as secretary/treasurer of the Episcopal Church Women and a lector. Mrs. Creager was a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was one of the original volunteers for Hospice of Henry County.
Surviving, besides her husband, are, daughters, Mrs. Tom (Cheryl Lynn) Houghtby, of Adrian, Mich., Mrs. Scott (Mary Beth) Slee, of Liberty Center, and Mrs. William (Julie Amelia) Creager/Holdsworth, of Valley Mills, Tx.; a sister, Mrs. Don (Barbara) Kaiser, of Needham, Mass.; grandchildren, Charles T. Houghtby, IV, Eric Eugene Slee, Erin Elizabeth Slee, Tate Creager Slee, and Ralph Jameson Holdsworth; and seven nieces and nephews.
Services were held Saturday, Jan. 13 in St. John the Evangelist Church, of Napoleon, with Father Scott Woodstuff officiating. Interment was in Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Friends of the Liberty Center Library, or the memorial fund of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
The Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, was in charge of arrangements.
