Gertrude I. Crawford, 75, of Liberty Center died Friday morning at Toledo Hospital.
She was born March 15, 1910, to O. Earl and Ida Pearl (Swartzlander) Murdock.
She married Charles A. Crawford on Aug. 31, 1940, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1978.
Crawford was a fourth grade teacher at Liberty Center Elementary School for 36 years. She retired in 1977.
Her memberships include Liberty Center United Methodist Church; Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority; Sheffield Literary Society, Napoleon; Pacific Chapter #63, Order of the Eastern Star, Liberty Center; and she was a volunteer for the one-roof schoolhouse at Sauder’s Museum, Archbold.
Surviving are a son. Dr. Gary Crawford, Toledo; three sisters, Helen McOschar, Liberty Center, Olive Keeler, Bay City, Mich., and Lucille McGary, Liberty Center; three brothers, Charles and Dale, both of Liberty Center, and Ray Murdock, Palm Bay, Fla.; and three granddaughters.
Services were held at 1:30 p m. today at Liberty Center United Methodist Church, Rev. Isaac Johnston officiated.
Burial was to be in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Delta Kappa Gamma conducted a service Sunday evening at Croll-Wright Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials be made to the church or the Heart Association.
