Minnie Clifton, daughter of the late Joseph and Tirzah Alice Hales was born in Liberty Township, Henry County, O., on Nov. 19, 1864. She departed this life following an extended period of ill health on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1959, having attained 94 years, 3 months and 5 days of age.
She is the last of a family of nine children and was an active member of the Victory United Brethren Church and Sunday School as long as her health permitted. Surviving are her three children, two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Hoffman of Napoleon, Mrs. Herbert Hoffman of Liberty Center and one son, Wilbur Graffice, of Fulton County.
Her first marriage was to Scott W. Grafficc to who’s union the above children were born. Following his death, seven years later she was married to David Clifton who passed away in 1937.
Surviving besides the above named children are eight grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
What changes have taken place in in the county of her birth? It is a great thing to note the growth of a county of one's residence. But recognizing all this there is a greater growth and changes taking place with her as she leaves the land of the dying to attain unto the place of living.
Services were conducted from the Walter’s Mortuary in Liberty Center Friday, Feb. 27 at 2 p.m. The Rev, David L. Eichar officiating. Burial was in the Young Cemetery.
