Raymond H. Carpenter, 66, Aurora, Illinois, died Saturday in St. Charles, Illinois.
He was born December 3, 1910, in Defiance County.
The deceased was a member of Wesley Methodist Church, Aurora, Illinois, where he was head usher and served on the board. He was president of Ray Carpenter’s Insurance Agency, Incorporated. He was national president of Mutual United of Omaha General Agent Association. He was president of Life Underwriters Association. He was a member of Wauseon Masonic Temple and Scottish Rite Valley of Chicago and Medinah Temple A.A.O.M.S. He instructed R.A.S. and A.A.S. pilots during World War II. He also headed fund raising activities of the American Red Cross.
Surviving are his wife, Meredith L. (Crum) Carpenter; one son, Thomas Carpenter, Hinckley, Illinois; two grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Carpenter, Fremont; and one sister, Mrs. Robert Fuller, Toledo.
Services were held Tuesday at Wesley Methodist Church, Aurora, Illinois, with Reverend Robert Crocker officiating.
Interment was made in Young Cemetery, Liberty Center, today (Wednesday).
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
