Randall M. Carpenter Dec. 1, 1914 - June 4, 2003
Randall Carpenter, 88, of Liberty Center, died Wednesday at Fulton Manor Nursing Home of Wauseon.
Born Dec. 1, 1914, in Liberty Center, he was the son of Roy and Gertie (Meyer) Carpenter. On June 3, 1936, he married Josephine Carpenter, who preceded him in death on Jan. 23, 2003.
He was a tool cutter/grinder and a farmer. He worked for 25 years at Dana Corp., retiring in 1977. He also drove school bus for Liberty Center Schools and was a truck driver for construction of the Ohio Turnpike. He was a member of Victory Chapel United Brethren Church of Liberty Center where he served as Sunday School superintendent for 50 years.
He is survived by five sons, Robert, Roger and Ray, all of Liberty Center, Richard of Titusville, Fla., and Ronald of Perrysburg; five daughters, Janet Hill and Joan Davis, both of Liberty Center, Judy Loar of Wauseon, Joyce Pacak of Delta and Jean Gerhart of Auburn, Ind.; a brother, Elmer; a sister, Cecelia Kern; 29 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lowell; and a sister, Donna Haley.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Victory Chapel United Brethren Church of Liberty Center, Pastors Steve Clymer and Chuck Whitmire officiating. Interment will be at Youngs Cemetery of Liberty Center.
