Obituary:
Lena M. Carpenter, 91, Liberty Center, died early today in the Northcrest Nursing Home, Napoleon.
Born on February 16, 1892, in Liberty Center, she was the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Tanier) Clapp. She was married on October 16, 1919, to Charles Carpenter, who preceded her in death on June 15, 1954.
Mrs. Carpenter used to teach piano lessons in her home. She was a member of the Liberty Center Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are a son, Merlin of Spring Arbor, Michigan; and two grandsons.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in the Liberty Center Wesleyan Church, with the Reverend Philip Parks officiating. Interment will be in the Youngs Cemetery, Liberty Center.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. today and after 2 p.m. Thursday in the Croll-Wright Funeral Home, Liberty Center, and two hours before the service Friday at the church.
